Formed inEssen, Germany in 1984, Kreator are arguably the most influentialand successful European thrash metal band ever, like many of theirEuropean speed metal brethren, Kreator fused Metallica’s thrashinnovations with Venom’s proto-black metal imagery. Often creditedwith helping pioneer death metal and black metal by containingseveral elements of what was to become those genres. The band hasachieved worldwide sales of over two million units for combinedsales of all their albums, making them one of the best-sellingGerman thrash metal bands of all time. The band’s style has changedseveral times over the years, from a Venom-inspired speed metalsound, later moving in to thrash metal, and including a period oftransitioning from thrash to industrial metal and gothic metalthroughout the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Kreator returned to theirclassic thrash sound, which has continued to the present. Thisdouble CD mediabook anthology contains all of Kreator’s NoiseRecords era classics and also includes rare songs, live tracks andremixes. Also includes booklet of rare and previously unseenphotos.
