I thought it’d be an awesome idea to rehouse a fully working, second hand 3DS XL console that I bought from Tradera.
Little did I know what I was in for…

I bought a new set of housing/buttons, bigger capacity battery, and new screens (why did I do this) for the 3DS. After waiting a while for it all to come from AliExpress and Amazon, I got to work… fiddling for quite a few hours, and eventually “breaking” the top screen in the process. I use quotation marks because I have no idea what is wrong with it, but it remains black upon turning on - powering on but no image.
The whole fix is quite complicated when replacing the screens, and I just was not skilled enough to do it.

Looking at the motherboard, everything looks completely normal and fine, nothing stands out as damaged.

I’m now cutting my losses after trying to fix it. This console is for someone that knows their way around a 3DS and can open it up and fix it effectively.
