Shipping and fees
The shipping cost for the item must be calculated in advance and stated in the shipping section of the listing.
Why do we have this rule?
This rule helps buyers understand the total cost of an item. Having reasonable and predetermined shipping costs sets the stage for a successful sale. Unexpected fees added on afterwards often lead to dissatisfied buyers. Sellers are allowed to charge reasonable shipping costs, including postage, packaging, and handling fees.
Not permitted to do
- Insisting on payment by a specific payment method
- Using the shipping fee or other methods to avoid or circumvent Tradera's fees
- Specifying a different shipping/packaging fee in the item description than the one specified in the ad's shipping cost box
- Charging a reminder fee for unpaid items as a private seller
- As a company, disclaiming the Consumer Sales Act, e.g.: "I am not responsible for the post's negligence"
- Charging the buyer additional fees when paying with e.g. PayPal
- It is not permitted to state a minimum selling price in the item description unless the reserve price option is selected
