Software and electronic media
There are restrictions on the types of software you can sell on Tradera. Some types of software are illegal to sell, while others require a license. The sale of items delivered electronically is also restricted on Tradera.
Why do we have this rule?
With this rule, we want to help our members comply with the laws and regulations governing the sale of software and electronic media. The sale of these goods can also damage Tradera and its members. Therefore, there are restrictions on selling such products on Tradera.
Not permitted to sell
- Beta, test, and evaluation copies, as well as pre-release versions of software
- Software, freeware, and shareware on recordable media, such as CD-R discs
- Game accounts, game characters, game currency, virtual items, and invitations to games and other online services"
Permitted to sell, with restrictions
- Academic software may only be sold by authorized resellers of educational materials, an educational institution, or a member of a faculty
- OEM software (Original Equipment Manufacturer, software obtained as part of the purchase of a new computer) as long as it is advertised together with complete and functioning hardware or if the software has reached end of life and is more than 6 years old
- Software (e.g. product keys), as long as you have permission from the rights holder to sell the product digitally
- Software advertised by an authorized reseller who has rights to online distribution
- NFT art, as long as the sale has been pre-approved by Tradera. As a rule, both a physical and digital work must be included in the listing to be approved
Permitted to sell
- 3-month Xbox Live subscription
- 12-month Netflix gift card
- An actual CD with the original release of software such as Photoshop
