Every listing needs at least one photo of the item that you have taken yourself, so the buyer can see what it actually looks like. A generic image does not show the condition or whether the item is genuine, and an AI-generated image gives a misleading picture of the item. You may only use images and texts that you have created yourself or have permission to use, as they are protected by copyright.
Prohibited to use
Listings with only generic images, for example from the manufacturer or an online shop
Photos that someone else has taken of their item, for example another seller or someone on social media
Texts that you have copied from another seller or online shop
AI-generated images of the item, even together with your own photos
Allowed to use
Your own photos of the item
Generic images as a complement, as long as the listing also has at least one of your own photos of the item
Your own photos where you have removed or changed the background
The previous seller's photos, when you resell an item you bought on Tradera using the Sell again feature. If the item's condition has deteriorated, you need to take your own photos showing what it looks like now.
A business that wants to use only generic images needs to be able to show that it has the right to use them, for example with a licence agreement. We need to approve the documentation before the listing is published.
