For sale is an extremely rare receiver by Sansui, model G-701 – the European version of the legendary G-7000.I purchased it from the original owner for my personal collection.
The unit is in exceptionally good condition, which is very hard to find for this model.The front panel shows only a small, barely visible line at the top. The vinyl cabinet has two very minor cosmetic flaws – both located at the rear edge of the top panel and barely noticeable during regular use.All switches and knobs are firm and precise – no looseness or wear detectable, the mechanics feel like new.The interior is completely original, including the factory lighting – no modifications or alterations have been made. When used with speakers of around 90 dB sensitivity, a faint low-level hum can be heard when placing the ear directly against the speaker. Considering its 50-year age and untouched original condition, a preventive service would certainly be advisable.In terms of sound, the G-701 delivers the signature character of Sansui’s G-series: remarkable detail and impressive power.Short video showing the Sansui G-701:
