This ZZ Topshow from the Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey on the 30th ofAugust 1980 was recorded by the King Biscuit Flower Hour during thebands Expect No Quarter Tour that began on the 20th of November1979 and ended on the 3rd of January 1981. A massive tour thatcomprised of 79 live shows. The set list has almost the completeDeguello album from 1979 performed in its entirety except for twotracks, this album features 13 tracks from that night. Aftertouring heavily for seven years ZZ Top had taken a break from liveperformance after the release of Tejas. They left their label,London Records, signing to Warner Bros., in 1979 and released theirsixth studio album Degüello near the end of the year. It would markthe end of an era for the band, as their next album El Locoreleased in 1981, would include synthesizer backing on certaintracks.
