Members of local bands Reprisal and Annihilation decided to join forces after nearly two decades in the wilderness; Streetrat were originally born however old favourites have now been ditched along with the name in favour of what we like to refer to as mature punk.

The band has now reformed and have been gigging since 2001 under the name Spitting Dummies.
