This is a USA pressing of Traffic's classic album John Barleycorn Must Die. It is in stereo and was released in 1970. The album is in excellent condition. The cover is in very good condition. The vinyl is in excellent condition . This is a great opportunity to own a piece of rock history.

Iluminado por el díptico “Glad” / “Freedom Rider”, con el jugueteo del piano de Steve Winwood en el primero y la carnalidad del saxo de Chris Wood en el segundo, y mecido por el tono de balada del tema tradicional que da título al disco, “John Barleycorn Must Die” (1970) es una obra clave en la singladura de Traffic

John Barleycorn Must Die” deja de lado las reminiscencias más psicodélicas de los primeros discos del grupo, quizá porque ya no estaba en sus filas el guitarrista Dave Mason, y se apuntala en una instrumentación no por escueta menos rica en matices (piano, órgano, saxo, flauta y batería, sin bajo y con el apoyo de la guitarra acústica solo en el tema folk central).

En este sentido, es como una obra bisagra, una reordenación del estilo esencial de Traffic, ya que al trío que ejecutó este disco –Winwood, Wood y Jim Capaldi– se unirían en los dos siguientes –“Welcome To The Canteen” (1971) y “The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys” (1971)– un segundo batería (Jim Gordon), un percusionista (Reebop Kwaku Baah, tan efectivo como después lo sería en Can) y, por primera vez, un bajista, Ric Grech, que acababa de trabajar con Winwood en Blind Faith.

Pese a la mayor variedad instrumental, estos trabajos, espléndidos por otro lado, no alcanzan el calor y la emoción del que nos ocupa, perfecto trenzado entre rock, rhythm’n’blues, blues y algo de soul. La voz de Winwood siempre mandó.
