Danska konsttryck – Konst kontra design” är namnet på en danskproducerad bok redigerad av Hanne & Tobias Scheel Mikkelsen från den Köpenhamnsbaserade designstudion ”WhatWeDo”.

Boken publicerades 2014 och är ett 200-sidigt kompendium med intervjuer och exempel på verk av 66 samtida danska konsttryckare. Bokens huvudfokus ligger på gränslandet mellan konst och design.

Av de 66 formgivarna är VisseVasse kanske den mest kända, om inte annat för affischerna från Danmark, Köpenhamn och Fyn (se bilderna).

Ett konsttryck är en hybrid mellan reproduktion av konst och designkonceptet, utan massproduktion.
Konsttryck kan kallas affischkonst, många exempel definieras som grafiska affischer.

Boken visar affischer, konstverk och illustrationer som kan användas för inredning, hängande på väggarna i ditt hus för att ge en känsla av mysighet.

Danish Art Prints – Art Versus Design’ is the name of a danish produced book edited by Hanne & Tobias Scheel Mikkelsen from the Copenhagen based design studio “WhatWeDo.”

Published in 2014, The book is a 200 page compendium with interviews of and examples of works by 66 contemporary Danish art print makers. The main focus of the book is the cross field between art and design.

Of the 66 designers, VisseVasse is perhaps the best known, if Only for the posters of Denmark, København og Fyn (see pictures 3 and 4).

An art print is a hybrid between reproduction of fine art and the concept of design, without mass production.
Art prints Can be called poster art, many examples are defined as graphic posters.

The book shows posters, artworks and illustrations which Can be used for interiør design, hanging on Walls in your house to give a feeling of cosiness.

Danish Art Prints - Art Versus Design er navnet på en ny coffee table bog redigeret og udgivet af WhatWeDo. Bogen er et 200 siders compendium som indeholder interviews og eksempler på arbejder fra 66 danske art printers. Bogen er skrevet på engelsk og trykt i Danmark.

The book explains the creative process from inspiration to finished art print, for each designer.

Designer Ruth Crowe says making art prints is like making a puzzle. “I start with a little piece of something and at some time I reach the end. Alongside with my daily work I save pictures when I stumble across something I find interesting. Even though I don’t know how to match them with each other or if I want to use them at all. When time comes for me to dive in to the folders filled with inspirational pictures I choose the ones I react most to – this then forms my theme and it is like an avalanche from there on out.”

She says that her work is both art print and interiør design.

The second preface in the book is written from an interior design perspective by Anja Hellberg, editor at Bolig Magasinet (Danish interior design magazine). She talks about art prints as an affordable way to quickly change your own style of interiors.
