MONTE CRICK, 1905-1969, also a pianist for BBC radio shows, was the second actor to play Dan Archer in the BBC's longest-running serial drama, The Archers. In the 1930s and 1940s, Crick was a composer of light stage musical pieces, including She Shall Have Music (1934), penned jointly with theater director Christopher Fry. He also wrote a number of songs, including "A Cloud", "March! March!" and "The Toy Train".
