1960s Austrian Army Pea Dot Camo Fishtail Parka — HBA 1960 Stamped
I joined the army at the age of 15, and part of me never left. My heart is still there—and so is my love for camouflage. I truly, sincerely love camo.
Among all, I have two favorites: the bold, vibrant 1950s Swiss brushstroke camo (I like the other Swiss brushstroke camo as well), and this one—pea dot camo. Both is rugged but still elegant! One thing both camo patterns have in common—at least to me—is that they look like lotus leaves. And I’ve always liked lotus leaves more than flowers.
This coat is perfect fit for 180cm / 73kg — Rugged elegance meets field-tested utility
A true military archive piece, this 1960s Austrian Army fishtail parka features the rare and iconic pea dot camo pattern, developed post-WWII and carried forward into Alpine military use. This isn’t a reproduction—this is the real thing, with an authentic HBA 1960 stamp, a symbol of durability, function, and timeless design.
• Authentic 1960 production — confirmed HBA stamp on interior
• Made from cotton gabardine — subtly glossy, not too heavy but durable, and lightly natural water-resistant thank to the dense weaving
• Pea Dot (Erbsentarn) camouflage — a pattern rooted in wartime innovation, reinterpreted for Austrian terrain
• Fishtail hem with drawcords — classic vintage parka silhouette
• 6 riveted ventilation eyelets under each arm — rare and purposeful design
• Hooded, longline cut — wearable in all seasons and layers beautifully
• Fits perfectly on a 180cm / 73kg frame — relaxed, natural drape with no bulk
This piece carries a unique contrast: rugged and elegant at once. Whether you’re shooting film, hiking trails, or styling with denim and boots for city wear—it adapts. It’s not loud. It’s not fragile. It’s just right.
You won’t find modern pieces with this weight, texture, and depth of pattern. And certainly not with this kind of lived-in, untouched historical beauty.
Condition:
Excellent vintage shape for its age. No major holes, all buttons intact, minor natural wear with beautiful aging throughout. Washed, ready to wear or display.
Ideal for:
• Cameramen & photographers
• Vintage collectors
• Techwear and gorpcore stylists
• Hikers & explorers
• Those who appreciate real military design, not fashion imitations
This is one of those coats you’ll remember for life. I also own the matching trousers from the 1970s—they’re my favorite gear for travel, work, and walking through the world unnoticed but fully equipped.
I’m planning to get another pair of pants in this camo for daily wear—and a shorter jacket version too. I want to live in this pattern.
Imagine pairing this with Carhartt double knee duck canvas pants and army leather boots! This piece makes me want to head straight into the mountains—built for movement, made for the wild.
