Beyerdynamic's TG-I50d dynamic instrument microphone is part of the brand's popular Touring Gear series, which means it's affordable and extremely reliable. It's also versatile and ensures a powerful yet round sound. It's ideal for use on stage and features a cardioid pickup pattern. The TG-I50d is suitable for electric guitar, bass, snare drums or brass instruments. What;s more, it's equipped with feedback reduction as well as a high-pass filter to avoid having to add excessive EQ to the mix to make it sound acceptable. The feedback reduction is especially handy when using this mic on stage.
Pickup pattern and frequency range

The cardioid pickup pattern is perfect for close-miking because it means the mic's sensitivity comes from one direction, so very little is captured from the sides or rear of the audio source. Most vocal microphones feature a cardioid pickup pattern for this same reason. Also, its excellent frequency response is what makes the TG-I50d so versatile.
