The Shure SM7dB Active Dynamic Microphone brings together the legendary sound of the SM7B and the convenience of a built-in active preamp. Designed for modern recording workflows, it provides the same smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response and professional vocal performance that have made the SM7B a staple in studios, broadcast facilities and content creation spaces worldwide.

Integrated preamp with transparent gain

At the heart of the SM7dB is a built-in active preamp that delivers up to +28 dB of low-noise, transparent gain. With selectable +18 dB and +28 dB boost settings, the microphone can achieve strong recording levels when connected directly to compatible audio interfaces and mixers. This reduces the need for external gain boosters while maintaining the microphone's natural character. If preferred, the preamp can be bypassed completely for classic SM7B operation.
