Decor in brown-red, black and yellow-pink by a border with, among other things, dragon loops along the board and by a circle with a pearl rod and points on the mirror, inside is a depiction of a scene from mythology.

Name variant full name: Johan August Malmström
Between 1849-56, Malmström studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. Continued his studies in Düsseldorf. Painted mainly landscapes, portraits and genre motifs, often with children. In his history painting, his motifs were often Nordic mythology. In Gustavsberg, he designed tableware, designed furniture and worked as a mint designer. Was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts between the years 1867-1901 and its director 1887-93.
