Produced and recorded by Enslaved’s lead guiratist Arve Isdal atConclave and Earshot Studio in Bergen, Norway, War Against All isthe tenth studio album from Immortal. Formed by Demonaz (guitars)and Abbath (bass/vocals) in 1990, the band has become one of themost important black metal bands in the world. The band’s previousrecord, 2018’s Northern Chaos Gods, was crowned one of the top 40albums that year by Decibel magazine. Demonaz states: Immortalcontinues the style that was established and defined on our veryfirst records. It’s fast, furious, epic, and mighty Blashyrkh metal— the one and only way. I still write all the guitar riffs/music athome with the same old vibe, and the lyrics as well. The early daysof black metal inspire me the most. Cold nights in the woods, onthe mountains under the winter moon. That’s what keeps the spiritalive, and the foundation to all our music. We have nevercompromised on the original vision, which is taking fans on ajourney through Blashyrkh with our most grim and dark music, withevery new release. These songs are no exception to this. I am proudof the final result, it’s got a distinct expression, and I can’twait to let the fans hear it.
