Unskinny Bop was Poisons first single from their third studioalbum, Flesh And Blood and the song peaked at number three on theUS Billboard Hot 100, number five on the Billboard Album RockTracks chart, and number one on Canada’s The Record chart. It alsoentered the top 20 in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, and theUnited Kingdom. The meaning of Unskinny Bop has always beenshrouded in obscurity. C.C. DeVille later confessed that the phraseunskinny bop has no particular meaning: he invented it as atemporary measure while writing the song, before vocalist BretMichaels had begun working on the lyrics. The phrase was used onthe basis that it was phonetically suited to the music.
