Set of three Late 19th Century Japanese Imari "Kinrande" Porcelain Plates (Meiji Period, c. 1860–1910)
A fine set of three hand-painted Japanese Imari porcelain plates from the late 19th to early 20th century, dating approximately to the Meiji period (c. 1860–1910). Executed in the classic "Kinrande" style, each plate features vibrant red, deep cobalt blue, and gold enamel decoration arranged in radiating panels with floral and geometric motifs. The center of each plate displays a traditional underglaze blue design, characteristic of Imari ware produced for export.
The plates exhibit beautifully detailed craftsmanship, with strong, vivid colors and a slightly scalloped rim, adding elegance and uniqueness to each piece. The reverse side features hand-painted blue floral patterns, with no modern maker's mark—suggesting early production prior to standardized export backstamps.
Dimensions (approx.):
Diameter: ~21 cm (each varies slightly)
Height: ~3 cm
Condition Report:
Fair antique condition with bright glaze and vivid enamel colors. Minor wear to the gilding consistent with age.
Provenance:
From a European private collection.
