Trooper Jack Deth (Tim Thomerson) is wiping out the last disciples of the psychic criminal Whistler, who uses his mental powers to 'trance' those with weak minds into doing his bidding. Though believed dead, Whistler is very much alive — in the year 1985. His master plan: travel back in time and assassinate the ancestors of the ruling council. With nothing left to lose, Jack is sent back in time himself, inhabiting the body of his ancestor. But Whistler's ancestor happens to be a police detective, and he's been trancing people across 1985 Los Angeles.
