Beskrivning
This is a genuine piece of Oromo (Ethiopia) craftsmanship. Hand-carved from a single, solid block of indigenous hardwood, it features the iconic curved legs and concave seat characteristic of traditional Jimma-style furniture.
The stool showcases a rich, dark natural patina developed over decades of use. Every inch reveals the artist’s hand, with visible adze/tool marks that give the piece incredible texture and soul. Its minimalist, organic form makes it a perfect addition to modern, Brutalist, or Wabi-sabi inspired interiors—serving beautifully as a low side table, plant stand, or a standalone art piece.
Details & Condition:
• Origin: Oromia region, Ethiopia.
• Material: Single-block indigenous hardwood (likely Olive or Cordia).
• Construction: Monoxyle (carved from one piece; no joints or nails).
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Features ”honest wear” including minor surface scuffs and a beautiful aged patina that confirms its authenticity. Note the stable, natural wood grain characteristics that add to its unique story.
• Style: Tribal Art / Mid-Century Modern / Primitive Minimalism
