Miloš Forman directs this sweeping historical drama based on Peter Shaffer's acclaimed stage play. In 18th-century Vienna, court composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) narrates his tortured relationship with the impossibly gifted Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce) — a man whose divine talent Salieri both worships and despises. A meditation on envy, genius and the cruelty of fate, Amadeus won eight Academy Awards including Best Picture. The cast also includes Elizabeth Berridge and Simon Callow.
