Modellbåt segelbåt "Rainbow" Americas Cup 1934 J-Class Yacht, skala 1/80

Säljer en färdig modell av segelbåten "Rainbow" som försvarade titeln i Americas Cup 1934, J-class yachts för New York Yacht Club och USA. Främsta utmanaren var den engelska båten "Endeavour" som seglade för Royal Yacht Squadron (UK). Båten är byggd i trä med många fina metalldetaljer och fotoetsade delar. Längd 51 cm, höjd 68 cm, bredd 8,5 cm.

The America's Cup is the oldest and most prestigious international sporting competition in the 21st century. Its history is rooted in the world of sailing, presenting a series of match races, where two yachts compete directly against each other. The Rainbow, specially designed by Starling Burgess, stood out for its elegance and power. Masterfully piloted by Mr. Harold S. Vanderbilt, it was the springboard for a competition that would hold the world's breath.
The first two races were a real challenge for Rainbow, but in the next four, she managed to prevail over the determined Endeavour. This success made Rainbow the winner of the 1934 America's Cup, demonstrating the crew's superiority and skill.

Dessvärre blev båten skrotad 1940 då man var i stort behov av metaller (och framförallt aluminium) för tillverkning av flygplan och vapen under andra världskriget. Men 2012 byggde man en replika av Rainbow i modernare tappning hos de holländska varvet Holland Jachtbouw Shipyard som seglar lyckligt vidare än idag ;-)
