Ett intressant vintage fickur från Seiko med en tydligt dokumenterad japansk historia.

Klockan har en ren vit urtavla med stora arabiska siffror, blånerade spadformade visare och texten “SEIKO QUARTZ” placerad vid klockan ett. Den klassiska öppna fickursdesignen kombineras här med Seikos tidiga quartz-teknik från slutet av 1970-talet.

På boettens baksida finns den japanska inskriptionen:

“79 ???? ???????????”

Inskriptionen betyder ungefär “Minnesgåva för förtjänstfull tjänst från Hachioji City Medical Association, 1979”. Klockan har alltså sannolikt delats ut som en heders- eller jubileumsgåva av läkarföreningen i Hachioji år 1979.

Skick

Begagnad vintageklocka med normala ålders- och bruksspår.

Den kromade boetten har lätt till måttligt slitage, inklusive mindre repor och märken på boettens sida och kanten runt glaset. Viss fläckbildning är synlig på boettens baksida.

Bygeln och kronan finns kvar och är intakta.

Den vita urtavlan är tydlig och lättläst. Svaga hårfina märken eller ytavtryck kan ses från vissa vinklar, men siffrorna och texten är tydliga.

Akrylglaset har lätta ytliga repor och viss optisk förvrängning som är normal för äldre akrylglas. Det är fortfarande transparent och urtavlan kan läsas utan problem.

Klockan fungerar vid annonseringstillfället.

Gångnoggrannheten och långvarig kontinuerlig drift har dock inte testats. Återstående batteritid och servicehistorik är okända. Framtida batteribyte eller underhåll kan därför behövas.

An interesting vintage Seiko pocket watch with a clearly documented piece of Japanese history.

The watch features a clean white dial with bold Arabic numerals, blued spade-shaped hands, and the text “SEIKO QUARTZ” positioned near one o’clock. Its traditional open-face pocket-watch design is combined with Seiko’s early quartz technology from the late 1970s.

The caseback bears the Japanese inscription:

“79 ???? ???????????”

This approximately translates as “Commemorative gift for meritorious service from the Hachioji City Medical Association, 1979.” The watch was therefore likely presented as an award or commemorative gift by the medical association in Hachioji, Japan, in 1979.

Condition

Pre-owned vintage condition with normal signs of age and use.

The chrome-plated case shows light to moderate wear, including scattered small scratches and minor marks around the case side and bezel. Some spotting is visible on the exterior of the caseback.

The bow and crown are present and intact.

The white dial remains clear and legible. Faint hairline marks or surface impressions may be visible from certain angles, but the numerals and printed text remain unobscured.

The acrylic crystal has light surface scratches and some optical distortion typical of aged acrylic. It remains transparent and does not significantly affect the readability of the dial.

The watch is currently running at the time of listing.

However, its timekeeping accuracy and long-term continuous operation have not been tested. The remaining battery life and service history are unknown. A future battery replacement or maintenance may therefore be required.
