Vintage Swedish Nautical Chart SKAGERRAK No. 933 – Hunnebostrand–Uddevalla–Gullholmen, 1958

Original Swedish nautical chart / maritime map, “SKAGERRAK – Swedish Coast”, covering the coastal area from Hunnebostrand through Uddevalla to Gullholmen.

This is an original mid-20th-century Swedish nautical chart, No. 933, printed in Stockholm in 1958, at a scale of 1:50,000.

The chart presents the detailed Swedish west coast and the surrounding archipelago, including areas around Hunnebostrand, Smögen, Kungshamn, Uddevalla, Gullholmen, Lysekil, Orust, Gullmarn, Sunninge Sund and Malö Strömmar. It contains numerous detailed inset harbour and approach plans.

The chart is particularly interesting as a historical piece of maritime cartography, documenting the appearance and navigation information of the Swedish west coast in the late 1950s.

Condition

The chart is in used original condition, consistent with its age and previous practical use.

It retains its original aged paper, folding structure, printed cartographic details and natural signs of use.

Important condition notes:

* a small fragment of the map is missing;
* the chart has an old repair on the reverse using adhesive tape;
* numerous original folds and creases are present;
* there are areas of age-related paper discoloration and minor staining;
* some edge wear is visible;
* the majority of the printed map remains well preserved and clearly legible.

The map has not been artificially aged or restored. The visible wear is part of its authentic historical condition.
