In Sweden, medicines may only be sold by pharmacies and by retailers that have registered with the Swedish Medical Products Agency. It is also not permitted to make medical claims in listings, as an item that is said to prevent or treat disease may be classed as a medicine. Home tests, for example pregnancy and allergy tests, that lack a batch number or the manufacturer's contact details, or whose packaging or instructions have been altered
That an item relieves pain
That an item strengthens the immune system or improves wound healing
That an item helps against impotence or stomach problems
That an item protects against disease or viruses
That crystals or stones cure diseases, for example cancer
Allowed to sell
Contact lenses without corrective power
Tooth whitening products with no more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide
Medical devices, for example ECG machines and spirometers, as long as they are CE marked and come with instructions in Swedish
Dietary supplements, for example with ginseng, rhodiola or caffeine, as long as the listing does not contain medical claims
