Uniforms, badges and equipment from the police, emergency services, the Swedish Armed Forces and other security-related organisations can be used to pretend to be someone you are not. This is a security risk and in many cases illegal. The rules are based on dialogue with the Swedish Police and the Swedish Armed Forces.
Prohibited to sell
Materiel from the Swedish Armed Forces, for example uniforms, helmets and protective vests. This applies regardless of age and even if the item was bought as surplus.
Uniforms and parts of uniforms, for example ties, hats and fabrics, that are still in use or have been used in the last ten years. This applies to, for example, the police, emergency services, airlines, airports, railway companies and security companies.

Allowed to sell
Police uniforms that have been taken out of use and do not resemble current uniforms, as long as this is clearly stated in the listing
Historical badges that do not resemble current police badges, as long as the listing clearly states that the badge is historical or comes from an organisation that no longer exists
Police badges, if the authority that issued the badge has approved the sale in writing and the listing includes a copy of the approval as well as the name and phone number of a contact person
Mini badges of about 3 × 3 cm
Badges that are clearly not official, for example plastic or toy badges
Fancy dress costumes
Souvenirs, for example hats, mugs, brooches, pens, buttons, cufflinks, T-shirts and money clips
If you have items that may not be sold, you can return them to the authority they come from.
