Carhartt Berwick Jacket (2014) – XL – Made in Mexico

A rugged, industrial-grade piece from the era when Carhartt was still producing some of its most work-focused, utility-driven outerwear. This 2014 Berwick Jacket represents a transitional period in Carhartt’s history: the years when the brand’s traditional American workwear identity intersected with the early stages of global streetwear adoption. Today, Carhartt items from this period have become sought after due to their durability, patina potential, and early-2010s production quality.

What is the Carhartt Berwick Jacket?

The Berwick Coat (often confused with the Chore Coat) was a shorter, more structured duck-canvas jacket designed for mechanics, maintenance crews, and industrial laborers.

It was produced for a limited span, and by the late 2010s the Berwick pattern disappeared from Carhartt’s core line, making 2010–2016 examples desirable among collectors of discontinued workwear.

Between 2009 and 2015, Carhartt’s industrial distribution line produced small-batch jackets for factories, oil crews, and utility companies. These jackets were never sold to the general public. Each company-issued example carries:
• Unique embroidery
• Distinct wear patterns
• Production traits that differ from retail Carhartt pieces

The Berwick in particular was part of a phase when Carhartt was refining work-specific designs before their massive fashion boom. Today, models like this are valued by collectors because:
1. They were not mass-market retail items
2. They age into exceptional patina
3. They represent a discontinued pattern no longer produced in modern Carhartt’s line
4. They reflect the true industrial roots behind the brand’s reputation

Owning one is equivalent to owning a piece of Carhartt’s authentic workwear heritage, not the later fashion-driven variants.

Condition Notes

The jacket shows clear evidence of real usage: sun fading, canvas wear, slight discolorations, and marks consistent with field or maintenance work.

A 2014 Carhartt Berwick Jacket in XL with rare industrial embroidery, heavy patina, and full fleece lining. A discontinued model that has become increasingly difficult to find in naturally worn condition. l

One interesting story: a person I know works for cacti, constantly testing different garments, tools, and gear in harsh conditions. After trying countless options, he ended up wearing Carhartt —not for the name, but for its performance. Carhartt was the only jacket that kept him warm while resisting the relentless sting of cactus needles, a true shield in the field. To him, Carhartt wasn’t about trends; it was about trust. It became a symbol of “unfashionable fashion”—gear designed to endure, not impress. A lifelong companion, built for real work and real life.

Note : Signs of wear, dirt, stains present.
