Sinn 103 Manual Winding
This is a tool watch for pilots with Chronograph and day/date function. From the serial number on the case, Sinn factory confirmed that this particular watch made in 1999.
I bought the watch at a famed auction site and imported it from Japan last year. I wore the watch during my flight training all the way up to my solo flight. ?? I personally used it, therefore I vouch for it. It is a beautiful and fully functional watch.
It is in perfect condition and everything on the watch is original. The crown is original. It has its original metal bracelet but I used it with original Sinn textile strap. The watch will come with two straps.
Chronograph works perfectly. The watch keeps good time. I didn’t measure the deviation but I suppose it is about -/+ 20 seconds a day. Once fully wound (30 turns of the crown winds it fully), it ticks about two days. Approximately 48 hour time reserve. You need to have a feel for it and don’t overwind it. Once it is slightly more stiff, just let go. Otherwise, you would risk harming the movement.
The manual version of Sinn 103 is rare and valued highly among vintage watch enthusiasts and collectors. You can check e-bay listings. I found only one listing of the similar manual winding model with no day function listed in Germany at 32.000 Sek.
Date function is in German language and the glass is acrylic. Sinn recently released a manual version of this model to commemorate after decades of producing automatic versions of it.
