After his recent run-ins with cosmic powerhouses like the Shi'ar superman, Gladiator (see Fantastic Four #249-250), and the Elder of the Universe known as the Champion (see Annual #7), Ben Grimm is laid up in the hospital for some much needed R&R. However, the criminal underworld sees this as an opportunity to take out a thorn in their side. Lucky for ole blue-eyes he has friends like the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Avengers, Alpha Flight, and the X-Men around to keep him safe and sound while he recuperates. Even the Hulk shows up to save his erstwhile sparring partner.
