Förstärkardelen i NAD-modellen 120 har direktkopplade utgångssteg med en linjär frekvenskurva på 20 till 20 000 Hz vid nominell utgång, vilket säkerställer utmärkt basåtergivning och dynamiskt omfång.

Tunerenheten har den senaste designen. De fantastiska resultaten möjliggörs av den 3-gångs variabla kondensatorn med lågbrusig FET och 2 FET i RF- och mixningssteget samt IC och faslinjära keramiska filter i IF-förstärkaren.

Viktigast av allt är MPX-kretsen med faslåsningsslinga som ökar stereoseparationen till mer än 40 dB vid 1 kHz. Tunern har separata AM- och FM IF-förstärkare. För noggrann avstämning används en fältstyrkemätare.

This superb unit sounds at least as good to my ear as more well known amps/receivers from the same era. 40w... maybe, but in 1970s terms. Through some massive Kef Concertos this receiver is too loud at 3 out of 10 on the volume dial. Visually it's gorgeous, minimalist face and beautiful timber. Now I want to get hold of it's bigger siblings.

The smallest receiver from NAD first series. Sure, it cannot be compared with monsters. Comes along only with necessary functions, dial pointer is not illuminated. So why 10 of 10? This small unit has a stunning sound if you use it with appropiate speakers (i use it in my office, less than 20 square meters, connect some newer B & W to it and you will be surprised ). Built quality is excellent, reception and phone stage too (one of my favourite receivers to listen to vinyl). Real wood case, finest design with turquoise illumination, one of those nice units that use indirect lighting - full design only visible when turned on. Some units are still available for 200 Euros or less and most times in good conditions, an excellent value for money if you want a fine looking and sounding vintage receiver even only rated with 20 Watts in 8 Ohm.The NAD 120 disgraces many other receivers with more than double of power. Reliability is perfect, only replaced light bulbs after 40 years, no scratching switches or pots (original condition).
