Beskrivning
Twentymarks the 20th year following the tragic 1977 plane crash thatchanged the Lynyrd Skynyrd story forever, and it is also notablythe fifth record the group has released since reuniting in the late80s. Prior to recording Twenty, the group added two new members —ex-Blackfoot Rick Medlocke and former Outlaw Hughie Thomasson —virtually making the band a Southern rock supergroup, and that’spart of the problem. There are too many egos involved to make thealbum truly captivating — especially since the songwriting isusually undistinguished — but occasionally, the star power gels andresults in some hot rock n roll. In other words, specialists andaficionados will find plenty of stuff to enjoy here, but mostcasual fans will think that it’s all been said before. One of thehighlights are the track Travelin’ Man, which is the first studiorecording of a song from the original band’s 1976 live album OneMore From The Road. Making use of modern technology, the band wereable to use original singer Ronnie Van Zant’s vocal tracks on partsof the song, in order to create a duet between Johnny and Ronniethat will send shivers down your spine. The album cover is afictional drawing of Monument Valley on the Navajoreservation.
