One of themost sensational and exciting frontmen of his time, Randy O made animpact on the industry in his brief career run before eventuallywalking away from it completely. Born in Pasadena California, Randywas not too far away from the members of one of his majorinspirations, Van Halen. At 16 years old, a young Randy O went to ashow at the LA Forum, where he saw Van Halen for the first time.When he saw the way singer, David Lee Roth commanded the stage,Randy knew he wanted to become a Rock N’ Roll front man. As Randygrew in his artistry, other influences bled through his vocalstyle, reminiscent of Rob Halford, front man of Judas Priest. Heembraced the flashy and energetic persona of David Lee Roth, whilesinging with the powerful operatic vocals of Rob Halford. In 1985,Randy O and his band Odin released their debut Studio EP Don’t TakeNo For An Answer. Their debut was a top selling record forGreenworld Records, charting in Japan for 9 months. Their successeven landed them a segment in the 1988 Music Documentary, DeclineOf The Western Civilization Part II featuring bands such asAerosmith, Kiss, and many other star studded acts of the time.Later, Randy would leave Odin in search of other musical pursuits.Randy was signed to Vicky Hamilton’s management company (managingacts such as Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, Poison and Stryper). Randyended up landing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1988, andwould release his first solo record in 1990 titled Lost And Foundwith his new band Lostboys featuring Jeff Duncan, lead guitarist ofOdin and Armored Saint and his brother Pat Gainor.From Demos ToAtlantic features 18 demo tracks from those early years that leadto that record deal with Atlantic Records.
