Swedish Death Metal is without a shadow of a doubt a legendarybeast. You can talk about Stockholm acts such as Entombed andDismember or Gothenburg acts such as At The Gates and all the otheracts that came at the same time. The Swedish act Smothered delivertheir debut album, The Inevitable End, and it melds the old schoolSwedish Death Metal vibe with thrashier elements. Their is also aHP Lovecraft vibe both in the cover artwork and in the song titles,Crawling Chaos, Re-Animated and Madness Take Me. This is a good andimpressive debut and Smothered will now help Entrails to wave theflag for the rebirth of Swedish death metal. The whole album reeksof old Dismember. This is pure Swedeath magnificence.
