The Arsonist is the seventeenth studio album by German thrashmetal band Sodom and their first since 2020. Its not only thecomplex production process that testifies to the band’s exceptionalcreative spirit, but also their diverse songwriting, which saw allfour Sodom musicians – Tom Angelripper (vocals, bass), FrankBlackfire (guitar), York Segatz (guitar) and Toni Merkel (drums) –involved in the development of the material on The Arsonist. One ofthe album’s songs, Witchhunter, pays tribute to the band’s originaldrummer Christian Witchhunter Dudek, while A.W.T.F. is dedicated tooriginal Tank frontman Algy Ward.
