Rare original German 1968 single

Crown Of Creation, a title taken with permission from JohnWyndham’s sci-fi novel The Chrysalids and refers to man as thecrown or highest level of creation, was released as a single inNovember of 1968 from the San Francisco psychedelic rock bandJefferson Airplane’s fourth studio album, also named Crown OfCreation. The track was only a modest hits on the Hot 100 chart butthe material on this single showed a band that were continuingtheir development of psychedelic music, emphasizing acid rock withscience fiction themes and were appreciated by the bands fans.Grace Slick contributed to the B-side, Lather, a folky, reflectivepiece inspired by boyfriend Spencer Dryden’s upcoming 30th birthdayabout what it meant to grow old in a youth-oriented movement, whichalso featured a nose solo by Gary Blackman.
