Georg (George) Majewicz (Polkwitz [today Polkowice near Glogów] 1897 – Münchberg 1965) - animalist and landscape painter; studied in Berlin. In the 1930s he lived in Pomerania and Szczecin, where he had a studio. He primarily painted animals - deer, moose, pheasants - depicting them in their natural habitat, in field and woodland landscapes. He also painted African animals, e.g. Leopards at a Watering Hole and Herds of Elephants in the African Savannahs. Auction painter. Highly sought-after.
