Calcite - Tsumeb Mine, Namibia

Cute miniature specimen of clear Calcite from the famous Tsumeb Mine in Namibia. Uncommon material. The letter "M" is painted on the bottom of the specimen, which could mean that it was in the collection of the German collector Peter Maurer.

Mining in the Tsumeb Mine ceased in 1996 making good pieces from the mine increasingly valuable and sought after.
