Double album

This album says it was recorded in Perth on the 14th of Februaryin 1978. However the date and venue is wrong. The recording isactually from Perth Entertainment Center on the 14th of March 1978.The band did two shows at Perth, 14th and 15th of March and thefirst one has become famous for Carl Wilson being so drunk andstoned that he falls into the drumset during Darlin. All threeWilson brothers were going throgh some difficulties at the time butwile Brian and Dennis seems to be ok Carl is slurring and beingprovocative before finally passing out. The fact is that Beach Boyshad been performing badly during the whole Australian tour, thatstarted on the 2nd of March and ending in Sydney on the 19th ofMarch. For several shows Carl had been high on smack and drunk butcould still perform rather well considering his condition. This wasan ill-fated tour and Carl held a press conference in Perthafterwards and apologized to the Australian fans. His publicapology was in the Sydney papers on March 16 and also broadcastedon TV where he said that he must have had too many Mai Tais beforethe concert. The show organizers returned 2,000 dollars to upsetfans. Carl promised it wouldn't happen again. Sydney the 18th wassupposed to be the tour-ender, but due to demand they added a dayshow on March 19. On this double album we have the night beforethat Carl accident. Its not a sober Carl here either but its not asbad as the next night and the band had around 15 musicians on stageso they were prepared to cover up any mistakes from Carl well. Tisalbum also features 9 bonus tracks that were recorded in WashingtonD.C on the 4th of July 1980. Its not the best sounding concert butan historic piece from that famous tour throughout the OZ countriesin 1978.
