Axas wasone of those bands that released an album and a single that arealmost impossible to find and you have to stack up a big pile ofcash to be a proud owner of one of their original releases. This45th anniversary edition with change that. This bombastic re-issuefeatures the Lucifer single, the Broken Dreams album and a 20 pagebooklet loaded with an extended band story, credits and linernotes, amazing photos directly from the band’s archive, remasteredsound, 2 bonus songs that never made it to the Broken Dreams albumand an entire bonus disc featuing an amazing live show of the band.Axas was an American mid to late seventies hard rock band hailingfrom the state of Indiana. The cover artwork on this re-issue istaken from the 1975 Lucifer single and makes you think this is away heavier and more metal sounding album then it is. Some may noteven consider this hard rock at all as the music has more in commonwith Little River Band that it does to metal genre acts such asBlack Sabbath or Led Zeppelin. But the album really deserved to bereissued as it features some high quality music. There are sometracks that features some heavier moments from the seventies othershave almost a folkish, progg or jazz fusion feel. Overall I wasexpecting something much heavier but cant say im dissapiontedeither. It features some nice 70s rock and some moments where ithas some guitar driven parts or a nice guitar solo. Its a nicediscovery but not more metal than Neil Young, Chicago or BadCompany but definitely worth owning and hearing if you love themusic from the 70s. The bonus live albums shows that the band feltheavier live than on album. The sound is a bit muddy which is ashame but since everything seems to be so rare with this band itsnice that it actually excist a live recording after all as it showsa bit different side of the band.
