Swedish chiptunemusician Dubmood (real name Kalle Jonnson) has released severalalbum together with with vocalist Gem Tos. On Machine, the twocontemplated on the feelings and bonds between humans andtechnology. On the follow up, Force De Frappe, those relations werestudied even further and in concept of nuclear conflict and mutualtotal destruction. Then when Dubmood released Overshoot Days it wasa continuation of this story line exploring themes of overreach,depletion of resources and departure. to face the decision of tostay or to leave, to change or decay, and the consequences for whatis left behind. At the same time Gem Tos released the OvershootDays The Compendium as an extension to the original narrative ofDubmoods The Overshoot Days album, to show that every story hasmore than one side. To have Dubmoods album and to get thisre-imagining of the Overshoot story by Gem Tos makes the combinedexperience just unimaginably brilliant. That however doesnt meanthat it isnt a highly enjoyable album as a standalone work, too.When it comes to Dubmood and Gem Tos then expect theunexpected.
