Beskrivning

This is a 1 Mark currency from 1907. The country of origin is Deutsches Reich. German Empire 1907 1 Mark – Wilhelm II – Silver Coin – Berlin Mint
Original 1907 German Empire 1 Mark silver coin, issued during the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II. This is a classic Imperial German silver denomination from the period before the First World War.
The obverse displays the denomination 1 MARK surrounded by an elaborate oak-leaf wreath, with DEUTSCHES REICH above and the date 1907 below. The oak wreath was a characteristic feature of Imperial German Mark coinage and remains particularly well defined on this example.
The reverse features the crowned Imperial German eagle, with its wings spread prominently across the coin. The eagle carries the Prussian shield upon its breast and is surmounted by the imperial crown. The small A mintmark beneath the eagle identifies the coin as an issue of the Berlin Mint.
The 1 Mark was an important denomination of the German Empire and formed part of the monetary system established following German unification. Coins of this type circulated throughout the empire during the reign of Wilhelm II and are now popular with collectors of Imperial German and pre-World War I European coinage.
This 1907-A 1 Mark was struck in .900 fine silver, with an original standard weight of approximately 5.55 grams, giving it an actual silver content of approximately 5 grams.
The present example is in circulated condition but retains considerable detail. The denomination, oak leaves, date and lettering remain sharp and easily readable, while the Imperial Eagle retains substantial feather, crown and shield detail. The surfaces display grey silver toning together with circulation marks and light wear consistent with age.
A particularly recognizable piece of Imperial German silver coinage, suitable for collectors of German Empire coins, Wilhelm II coinage, silver Marks, Berlin Mint coins, 1907 German coins and historic European silver currency.
