Rudolph Valentino, born Rodolfo Pietro Filiberto Raffaele Guglielmi, was an Italian-born American silent film actor and cultural icon of the 1920s. Nicknamed the “Latin Lover,” he rose to fame with roles in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, The Sheik, Blood and Sand, The Eagle, and The Son of the Sheik. Known for his exotic screen persona and romantic intensity, he became cinema’s first male sex symbol. Valentino died suddenly in 1926 at age 31, sparking mass public mourning and cementing his legacy as a Hollywood legend.
