Vintage African Animal Hide Rattle Drum Handmade Ethnic Percussion

Vintage handmade African-style rattle drum / percussion instrument made from natural animal hide and leather.

The instrument has a hide-covered body with an unusual hand-laced construction and a carrying/hanging loop. There is a loose object or filling inside which produces a rattling sound when the instrument is moved or shaken. The hide-covered top can also be struck by hand to produce a percussion sound.
