• The Purchase Note: The handwritten French inscription ("J'ai acheté...") reveals that an early buyer acquired this book in 1619—the exact same year it left the printing press in Paris.
• The Price (1 Livre): The buyer recorded that the book was purchased for 1 livre (the French currency of the era). This was equivalent to roughly one day's wage for a standard laborer, showing it was bought as a highly valued reading copy rather than a purely decorative luxury piece.
• The Location (Jullions): The note links the book to a historical location in Paris, likely a monastic library or a famous bookseller street (such as Rue de la Juiverie), which served as the hub for early travel literature.
• The Crossed-out Word: The ink strikeout in the middle-right of the title page indicates an official change of ownership or library de-accessioning during the 17th century, where the previous owner's mark was canceled out by the new buyer.

This particular copy is not only a rare original 1619 edition, but it also carries a fascinating and 400-year-old traceable history written in ink directly on its title page
