Vintage MOD Ancre 17 Rubis mechanical wristwatch with a compact gold-tone case, silver-tone dial and classic mid-century European styling.
The dial is signed:MOD
ANCRE 17 RUBIS
ANTICHOC
The simple silver-tone dial, black numerals and gold-tone case give the watch a restrained vintage dress-watch appearance typical of the 1950s and 1960s.
“Ancre 17 Rubis” indicates a 17-jewel lever movement, while “Antichoc” refers to shock protection. This combination was commonly associated with dependable Swiss and European mechanical watches of the period.
