What does upcoming payment mean?
It means that the amount has left the buyer’s account and is on its way in a transfer to your balance. The money is therefore secured, and within 3 banking days the amount will be available for withdrawal. That’s why you can feel completely safe sending the item once you see the payment marked as Upcoming.
How it works
- When the buyer pays with Swish or Balance, the amount becomes available immediately.
- For other payment methods, it takes up to 3 Swedish banking days before the amount is available.
- The amount becomes available automatically and can then be paid out as usual.
The waiting time depends on the processing time banks and payment systems need to complete the buyer’s transaction.
It means that the amount will be available no later than midnight on that date.
No, the money is not held by Tradera during this time but is in transit between the buyer’s bank or payment institution and Tradera’s account. We do not earn any interest on this money.
When the payment is shown as Pending, the money has left the buyer’s account and is on its way in a secure transfer, but it has not yet reached Tradera’s bank account. Only once the money has arrived in Tradera’s account can we make the amount available in your Balance. It is therefore the processing time of banks and payment institutions that causes the delay.
We recommend that all buyers use Swish when paying. However, we also offer several different payment methods, just like most e-commerce platforms. We do this to remain an attractive marketplace for buyers, so that everyone can find a payment option that suits them.

The money marked as Upcoming has already left the buyer’s account and is in transfer on its way to your balance. At this stage, they cannot cancel or withdraw the payment – the money is secured.
Purchases on Tradera are binding. Once the buyer has paid, they cannot cancel their purchase. A purchase can only be annulled if the seller agrees. This applies whether the payment is still marked as Upcoming or not.
