Polish black metal powerhouse Black Altar have beenaround for 21 years now, and continue to deliver darkness anddespair on record after record. This album is going to be acrowdpleaser for all those who can’t get enough evil and memorableblack metal. Unlike some bands that sound contrived or overlyexperimental, all the tracks on this record stand out due to goodsongwriting and unique riff structure. Black Altar, or atleastmainman Shadow, shows that he is a man that thinks everythingthrough while creaing his music. He probably loves this as he adsboth space for technique and creativity in his music. It might notbe the most complicated riffs but they do change quite often andare variable to keep the music interesting. For the track Tophet heis joined but several guests that are worth mentioning like, Vaderdrummer James Steward and guest vocals from V.Priest fromAcherontas, Acerbus from Ondskapt and Soarath Northgrove fromBeastcraft. The Norwegian act Beastcraft is featured here with 6tracks and their music is raw and quite primitive. Their music islike a slow-burning, atmospheric ritual. The band is bringing a rawbut incredibly detailed post-black metal sound that is brilliantlystructured with dark melody. One of the better tracks on the wholesplit album might be the Beastcraft tune Blackwinged Messiah, whichhas a more traditional black metal sound
