Polish pressedmusic cassette. Clear cassette with printed paper label.

Poland is probablythe country that had the most record labels in the world that onlyreleased cassettes. But even though there were lots of labels themarket was still small as they only printed these for their ownmarket inside of Poland. And a label in one town maybe lacked thedistribution for another town and so on. A Warzaw or Krakow labelmight print more copies of a tape then labels from a smaller town.So even if there are thousands of releases you will notice how raresome are if you start to try to list the catalog number of oneparticular label. Some cassettes just rarely shows up. One of thebigger cassettes labels were Takt Music in Warsaw and another onewas MG Records, which was a sub-label of GM Records (both used thesame logo during the early 90s). Just like Takt they started in1990 and existed up until 1994 and during those 4 years theyreleased approx 3000 tapes. Under the name of GM Records theystarted a pressing plant in Poland after these cassette years wasover.

Formed 1979 inEdinburgh, The Exploited, was, and still is, a loud, proud, andrabble-rousing Scottish punk outfit that were one of the mostriveting British punk rock units of the early 1980s and wouldbecame one of the longest-running acts on British scene and theycame to symbolize U.K. punk at its roughest. Their name wasemblazoned on the backs of countless leather jackets. Their musicwas harsher, darker and cruder than the Edinburgh band’sforefathers and they had a heavy political influence. They signedto Secret Records in March 1980 and released their debut EP ArmyLife (which was number 6 in the independent charts for eightweeks), followed by their best album Punk’s Not Dead which sloganis written on every grey wall in every grey city. They started outas a real street punk act and they never had a major pop hit likeThe Clash’s Rock The Casbah, but they had no problem commanding adevoted following in the punk underground and among the Britishworking class. Punk doesn’t get much more passionate and recklesslyfun than On Stage, recorded live at the Nite Club in Edinburgh,Scotland in 1981. The sound quality isn’t great by any means, butthe band’s vitality comes through loud and clear on such angry, sneering classics as I Believe In Anarchy, Dogs Of War and CopCars. This is material that no punk fan should be without.
