Poland is probablythe country that had the most record labels in the world that onlyreleased cassettes. But even though there were lots of labels themarket was still small as they only printed these for their ownmarket inside of Poland. And a label in one town maybe lacked thedistribution for another town and so on. A Warzaw or Krakow labelmight print more copies of a tape then labels from a smaller town.So even if there are thousands of releases you will notice how raresome are if you start to try to list the catalog number of oneparticular label. Some cassettes just rarely shows up. One of thebigger cassettes labels were Takt Music in Warsaw and another onewas MG Records, which was a sub-label of GM Records (both used thesame logo during the early 90s). Just like Takt they started in1990 and existed up until 1994 and during those 4 years theyreleased approx 3000 tapes. Under the name of GM Records theystarted a pressing plant in Poland after these cassette years wasover.

One of the mostriveting British punk rock units of the early 1980s, the Exploitedcould have cared less about mainstream pop sensibilities andinsisted on keeping things raw and hardcore. With The Clash havingbecome more polished, The Damned and Sham 69 having gone downhilland the Sex Pistols having disbanded, The Exploited came tosymbolize U.K. punk at its roughest. The Britons never had a majorpop hit like The Clash’s Rock The Casbah, but they had no problemcommanding a devoted following in the punk underground and amongthe British working class. In the band’s early years The Exploitedformed an integral part of the anarchist movement, though the lateralbums (from 1987 onwards) are considered to be crossover thrash.Despite seemingly constant line-up changes since their inception,the band has managed to maintain, develop, and evolve a highlyinfluential style of punk. Frontman Wattie Buchan has led the manymembers through over 20 years of constant gigging and recording,creating a worldwide following in the process. The Exploited attheir best is gritty, gruesome and still passionate and fun. Thereare so many great tunes on the Totally Exploited compilation thatits simply an album that no punk fan should be without.
