Maitani's Pocket Masterpiece. Complete in Its Original Box.
In 1979 Olympus designer Yoshihisa Maitani, the mind behind the Pen and OM systems, reinvented the pocket camera with the XA: a sealed capsule that opens with a slide of its cover. A year later, the XA2 took that idea and made it effortless. Where the original XA was a rangefinder, the XA2 swaps fine focusing for three simple zones and hands exposure entirely to the camera. Its 35mm f/3.5 D.Zuiko lens is a four-element Tessar-type design, sharp and characterful, and the electronic "feather-touch" shutter button fires with the lightest press, so the camera stays still as you shoot. This example comes in its original box. In Very Good condition, it shows light signs of age and use. For the photographer who wants something truly pocketable, or the collector who appreciates one of the great industrial designs of the 20th century.
Format: 35mm zone-focus compact
